蝎子乐队最早成立于1969年，由 Rudolf Schenker（rhythm guitar/vocals）是乐队的组织者与灵魂，而他也正是蝎子乐队唯一一位自始至终的成员。经历了30多年的风风雨雨，乐队的人员经历了多次变动，最多时6人，而目前，乐队只剩下Klaus Meine〔leader vocals〕, Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs〔leader guitar〕三名成员。三员摇滚老将各个身怀绝技，Klaus Meine那嘹亮干净的高亢嗓音以及炉火纯青的唱功，即使在欧美顶尖摇滚乐队里也是数一数二的，而且还写得一手极棒的歌词，内涵颇深。Rudolf Schenker作为乐队的领导者，乐队每首作品的作曲基本上都是由他包办的，而蝎子作品旋律的优美、流畅、大气也正是乐队风靡世界的金字招牌。而Matthias Jabs凌厉无比的吉他扫弦，更是技艺非凡，主音吉他的大段吉他SOLO技巧性高，又极为耐听，也是蝎子乐队的音乐特色。1989年，他们在俄罗斯举办了数场演唱会，从而成为第一支到前苏联开演唱会的西方资本主义国家摇滚乐队，这次俄罗斯之行使他们对前苏联这个在西方世界都感到难以想象的国家有了一个新的认识，在莫斯科街头感受阵阵微风，更促使 Klaus Meine 写下了他最著名的歌曲 《Wind Of Change》。成为了乐队最受认可的世界性曲目。始终绕梁的是音乐中悠扬的令人叫绝的口哨SOLO，它使这首歌骤然有了灵魂。

当时柏林墙被推倒，东西方文化开始融合，庆祝冷战结束，世界和平的到来。
